What are your operating hours?

Elementary
K3, K4 & K5 Half Day: 8:00 a.m.—11:45 p.m.
K3, K4 & K5 All Day: 8:00 a.m.—2:45 p.m.
1st-6th Grades: 8:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
Extended Care opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m.
Junior High (7th & 8th Grades)
8:05 a.m.—3:30 p.m.
Extended Care 3:20 p.m.—5:30 p.m.
Senior High (9th—12th Grades)
8:05 a.m.—3:30 p.m.

What are your summer operating hours?
For the months of June and July, we will be open from 8:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Otherwise, the times are the same as the school year.

What curriculum does ABSS use?
Under the Elementary and High School menu options, you will find links to our curriculum. This information is provided for each individual grade.

How do I arrange a visit and/or have my student shadow a current ABSS student?
To arrange a tour, e-mail Robbie Bennett at rbennett@abhs.org or call her at 501.227.7077, ext. 368. She will arrange a visit that fits your schedule.

Are ABSS teachers certified?
All of our teachers are certified to teach and many hold Master’s degrees.

What kinds of sports do you offer?
Sports begin in the 4th grade with basketball for both and girls and football for boys. Beginning in the 5th grade, girls may participate in cheerleading. In junior and senior high school, the following sports are offered: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, track, cheerleading, archery, and sport shooting.

How can I receive financial aid?
There is a limited amount of financial aid available to ABSS families each year. Financial aid is given on a needs-basis as determined by an independent outside organization. A family must be fully registered in order to apply for financial aid.

To receive information about the Home School Satellite program, contact Holly Singleton at 501.224-4990.

If my child is academically advanced, how will he/she be challenged?
Before being accepted at ABSS, a student’s academic credentials are gathered and placement is evaluated. The daily curriculum content is accelerated, and students will be highly challenged. At the high school level, college-prep, honor and AP classes are offered to our students. Should a student evidence the need for advancement, the teachers will individually meet that challenge to benefit the student.

K3 Full or Half Day 12 maximum

How many students do you have?
The school system has approximately 760 students.

How much do lunches cost?
Elementary lunches are $3 and juice or milk is $.35 per day.
Junior and Senior High lunches are $4 a day.

Does ABSS have Accelerated Reader?
Yes.

Is it required that a family be a member of a Baptist church in order for a child to attend ABSS?
No. Our student body is representative of a diversity of faith expressions. Over 110 churches in Central Arkansas are attended by the ABSS family. Families who are not presently invested in a church home are also welcome to explore the opportunities offered at ABSS.

How can I get involved with the school?
No matter what age your child is, there is a place for you to get plugged into ABSS. We have Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) for both the elementary and high school. If you are interested in either band or athletics, we have booster clubs for both.

What is your inclement weather policy?
